FIELD NOTE · PRIVACY

Privacy,
written plainly.

Deliberate Arc is built for professional growth that may involve private goals, work context, and reflection. This policy explains what leaves your device, why it is processed, and where you remain in control.

Applies to
Deliberate Arc apps and services
Principle
Use private content only to provide the experience you requested
01

Information Deliberate Arc processes

We process the information needed to create and synchronize your account, provide your learning practice, and preserve your choices across supported Apple devices.

  • Account information: identifiers and limited profile information supplied through Sign in with Apple.
  • Professional learning content: ambitions, routes, Focus Sprints, actions, reflections, outcomes, progress, and settings that you choose to save.
  • Saved material: links, notes, and newsletter content you intentionally add to your private inbox.
  • Service information: device and notification tokens, subscription entitlement status, synchronization timestamps, and limited diagnostic records.

Reflection text and other private professional content synchronize to the Deliberate Arc service. “Private” means it remains associated with your account and is not made public or shared with other users; it does not mean that the content remains only on one device.

02

How information is used

We use account and content data to:

  • authenticate you and synchronize your work across devices;
  • build the daily practice, history, reminders, and review experiences you request;
  • operate subscriptions and restore verified access;
  • protect the service, diagnose failures, and prevent misuse; and
  • improve product reliability using bounded events that exclude private text.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private reflection, ambition, Sprint, outcome, saved-content, or search text for advertising profiles or product analytics.

03

Optional AI reflection follow-up

The AI follow-up is optional and is not triggered merely because you write or save a reflection. It runs only after you select Ask for one question.

For that single request, Deliberate Arc sends OpenAI:

  • the Focus Sprint title, limited to 160 characters;
  • the intended outcome, limited to 2,000 characters;
  • the reaction you selected; and
  • up to 6,000 characters of the initial reflection.

Deliberate Arc does not include your name, email address, Deliberate Arc account identifier, other reflections, or account history in that request. Your answer to the generated question is not sent back to OpenAI in this one-question flow.

The request uses OpenAI’s API with response storage disabled. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Under OpenAI’s standard data controls, prompts and responses may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect OpenAI’s services or third parties from harm. Learn more in OpenAI’s API data controls.

If the AI provider is unavailable or the request times out, Deliberate Arc uses a built-in question. AI availability never prevents you from saving a reflection or completing a Focus Sprint.

04

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers to operate hosting, databases, authentication, notifications, email intake, subscriptions, and the optional AI feature. They may process information only to provide those services to Deliberate Arc, subject to their agreements and applicable law.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction with appropriate notice and safeguards. We do not disclose private professional content to employers, coaches, or other users unless you intentionally export or share it.

05

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Account content is retained while your account is active so it can synchronize across your devices. You can edit or delete individual content in the app where that control is offered. You can delete your account from the app after confirming your identity with Apple; that deletes the account and its associated content from the active Deliberate Arc database.

Limited security, operational, backup, tax, or transaction records may be retained when reasonably necessary or legally required. Apple independently retains App Store purchase records under Apple’s terms. You can decline the AI follow-up simply by not requesting it; the rest of the reflection flow remains available.

06

Security, children, and changes

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect account information, including encrypted network connections and account-scoped authorization. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Deliberate Arc is designed for professional learning and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the product or its providers change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, when appropriate, notice in the app.

07

Questions and requests

For privacy questions or account-data requests, use the support contact listed on Deliberate Arc’s App Store product page. Account deletion is also available directly inside the app.
